Lucan Karate has been delivering traditional Shotokan karate for Lucan, Adamstown and the surrounding area since 2001. Our instructor holds an internationally recognised 6th Dan. We are affiliated with USKFI at a national level. Dan gradings are held twice a year under Senior KUGB instructors, such as Sensei F. Brennan.
Chief Instructor – Sensei Michael M. Sherlock
Sensei Sherlock holds a 6th Dan in Shotokan Karate and has represented Ireland at international level around the world. He has graded under Sensei Enoeda, and other internationally renowned KUGB instructors. Sensei Shrelock is a qualified KUGB Instructor Assessor.
Sensei Sherlock cofounded USKF with Sensei David Royle, in order to foster and promote Shotokan Karate in Ireland.
Garda Vetting
Our instructor and Child Safety Officer (CSO) are Garda vetted.
Affiliation
Our dojo is affiliated with United Shotokan Karate Federation of Ireland (USKFI) – USKFI hold gradings, courses and competitions throughout the year.
Through USKFI, we have access to KUGB senior instructors such as Sensei Frank Brennan for courses and Dan gradings.
